FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE CLASS ACT BAND

The Class Act Band kicks off

the concert series on July 18

with a danceable blend of

music that ranges from pop

and light rock to swing and

jazz.

    For Jim Boehm,

a bass player who manages the band along with his wife, Judy, the concerts are  a great way to spotlight local acts and help promote the music industry in Georgia.

"People are dying to discover artistic abilities in themselves

and see what's out there in the community," explains Boehm.

"We have artists of every race, color and creed, and a lot of

people just don't realize that we have it here. The drive for me

is to bring a musical culture to Gwinnett County and to Georgia."

Eventually, Boehm would like to see Atlanta and the suburbs

develop a music scene that rivals the scenes in Nashville, New

Orleans and New York. The important thing, he explains, is to

promote art in all it's incarnations, visual or auditory. After all,

Boehm says, "It's what gives us a passion for life."
